AA Cavia is a researcher and writer with a background in computer science. His studio practice is centered on speculative software, engaging with machine learning, algorithms, encodings, and other software artefacts.
He has lectured and exhibited internationally, at institutions such as Jan van Eyck Academie, ZKM, AdBK München, Goldsmiths, The Bartlett, and The New Centre for Research.
His writings have been featured by HKW, Urbanomic, Routledge, and the Glass Bead Journal amongst others. He’s the author of one book on the philosophy of computation, Logiciel (2022), published by &&&.
He has over a decade of experience building digital platforms for the arts, including lead roles at Artsy and Last.fm.
